Overview
Presbyterian is seeking an. Inpatient Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist. The Inpatient antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist ASP serves as a departmental resource and liaison to physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other hospital personnel. The ASP pharmacist functions under the direction of the Infectious Disease Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Director to assist with the clinical needs of the ASP program. Additionally, the ASP pharmacist PhC can function in an advance practice clinician role in the inpatient space, in accordance with the approved Scope of Practice.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
- Doctor of Pharmacy (preferred)
- New Mexico Registered Pharmacist license required
- Residency training or three years of pharmacist experience
- New Mexico Pharmacist Clinician license required within 18 months of hire
- BPS Board of Pharmacy Specialties specialty certification (or eligible for testing, with certification to be obtained within 24 months of hire
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmaceutical care services for patients within assigned scope of practice, under the direction of the Infectious Disease Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, including assessment of individual patient needs, incorporation of age and disease specific characteristics into drug therapy, patient education, education of the health care team, provision of individualized care relevant to patient needs, delivery and monitoring of interventions as appropriate. The ASP pharmacist PhC will utilize the ACP credentialed role as appropriate for the services being performed
- Assist in preparation of materials for Pharmacy Clinical Conferences and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings, including the Infectious Disease P and T subcommittee
- Assist in preparation of monthly reports and annual reports regarding the ASP program
- Perform drug use evaluations
- Develop and provide standardized onboarding/training on antimicrobial stewardship and infectious disease related topics for new or existing clinical services provided by the Pharmacy Department, under the direction of the Clinical Pharmacy Manager
- Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy residents and students during an infectious disease rotation
- Assist Clinical Pharmacy Manager with mitigation plans for drug shortages involving antimicrobial agents
