In this role, there is the opportunity to -
Interpret physician orders and prescriptions to prepare and dispense accurate medication dosages in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately to ensure patient safety.
Sustain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy selections.
Review and screen patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications during order verification.
Organize daily pharmacy operations and supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, and ancillary personnel involved in pharmaceutical care.
Adhere to all regulatory and professional standards, ensuring quality pharmaceutical care and hospital compliance.
Communicate with physicians and nurses to resolve unclear or incomplete orders for effective medication management.
Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students for continuous learning.
Utilize advanced computer systems and technology to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of pharmaceutical care delivery.
Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using aseptic techniques in sterile product preparation areas.
Required
Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy
B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state
Preferred
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience
