In this role, there is the opportunity to -

  • Interpret physician orders and prescriptions to prepare and dispense accurate medication dosages in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately to ensure patient safety.
  • Sustain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy selections.
  • Review and screen patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications during order verification.
  • Organize daily pharmacy operations and supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, and ancillary personnel involved in pharmaceutical care.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and professional standards, ensuring quality pharmaceutical care and hospital compliance.
  • Communicate with physicians and nurses to resolve unclear or incomplete orders for effective medication management.
  • Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students for continuous learning.
  • Utilize advanced computer systems and technology to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of pharmaceutical care delivery.
  • Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using aseptic techniques in sterile product preparation areas.
