Job Description Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, performs any or all of the functions of the department as assigned according to established procedure. Based on ability, experience, and performance, performs the increasingly judgmental activities of a pharmacist pursuant to State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. Under supervision, gains the practical experience necessary to function competently and effectively upon licensure.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Obtain, prepare, and label pharmacy products according to department policy for final distribution.

15%

Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, review and interpret orders for pharmacy products needed for patient care, perform any necessary interventions, and process according to department policy and procedure.

15%

Produce billing, monitoring, and usage documentation of pharmacy products for proper billing and inventory purposes.

5%

Maintain sufficient inventory of pharmacy products to enable efficient distribution.

10%

Provide information via phone/in person to other healthcare professionals and/or customers.

5%

Submit medication charge data to assure proper reimbursement.

5%

May assist in training technicians, externs and interns in technical aspects of duties.

5%

Participate in special projects when necessary.

High School or GED (Required)PHARM-INT - Pharmacy Intern (learning practice of pharmacy) - Ohio Board of Pharmacy

  • Must be actively enrolled in a College of Pharmacy or actively pursuing licensure as a Registered Pharmacist through post-graduate experience requirements (required)

  • Registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern (required)

  • Hours - The normal expectation for interns is to work every other weekend when school is in session (additional shifts can be arranged if available). Interns are expected to pick-up FT hours during school breaks, as well as being part of the holiday rotation (holiday premium is included). Hours are available on day and evening shift.
